Discussion
The meeting began with a brief welcome and round of introductions. The club’s financial year was summarised by Lee H. In brief we have had some large expenses this year, the toilet block being the main one, but this is an asset to the club and has residual value which the club can gain back by selling the unit if needed. It was agreed it was a much needed and welcome upgrade to the club.
Other costs included.
· Track Repairs
· Compressor / generator
· Scoreboard
· Prizes/trophies
· Overall land rent
Books will be made available for viewing at request.
The committee foresees more expenses in the future with our plans to improve the facilities even further, details in the future plans section.
Proposals
[Proposal 1]: [Proposed by Lee H, Barry seconded] – Lee proposed Chris Potts to join the committee given the work he’s provided helping install the new toilet block and steps.
[UNANIMOUS PASS]
[Proposal 2]: [Proposed by Rusell, Barry seconded] – Russ proposed that Truggies are run in the bottom heat and bottom final with their own championship to align with other clubs for the rest of the winter series. From the start of summer Truggies will only be allowed to run if there is enough for a full heat (minimum 8)
[UNANIMOUS PASS]
[Proposal 3]: [Proposed by Lee F, Lee H seconded] – 22 minute finals for all. This was proposed as a method to limit the ability to one-stop a final and ensure fairness in competition. It was ultimately dropped and left for future discussions come the summer.
[DROPPED]
· [Proposal 4]: [Proposed by Jamie P, Dave B seconded] – Allow e-buggies to one stop the final but make the stop on the box last 12 seconds rather than 5. Again the idea to make it fair for the ebuggies vs nitro. As with the 22 minute finals the overall consensus was that nothing needed to change as it stands and further discussions can be held for summer.
[DROPPED]
Proposal summary.
Ø Truggies will be placed in the bottom heat/final until the end of winter and then from summer onwards they only run if enough attend to fill a full heat.
Ø Chris Potts – New committee member – track maintenance co-ordinator.
Future Plans
Extend Rostrum Cover – Discussed the potential of extending the cover over the right hand side of the rostrum and rebuilding the wall to allow better access to that side, allowing more people to comfortably fit on the rostrum without having to disturb others.
Track Repairs – The astro is still in need of some repairs to allow us to complete a full layout change ready for the 2026 Summer Series. A date will be set between rounds of the winter (weather permitting) for repair work with a view to change the layout before the start of summer. A much needed change we’re sure all racers will appreciate. Member suggestions for track layouts are welcomed!
Gate Code Change – Gate codes will be changing towards the end of winter. Members should expect an email with the new codes once they’re active.
Marshal points – Marhsall points need adjusting to allow better coverage of the track and then marshals 9/10 should be available in the pit lane to help with race control / pit lane duties.
Hardwick Vs Pendle – We are in touch with Hardwick about running a Vs series with them over the summer much like we did with NWN a couple of years ago. Further details will follow.
Website / Mailing List Updates – We’ve had reports the mailing list isn’t working correctly, this is being looked into, along with updating the website to include new committee members and summer dates.
Meeting Closed: 18:50
